Hello I’m Derek and I’m about to start burping

Burping is exactly what my kids thought I was saying!

Thank you Hymix! I am not even at my first week yet but... will get there soon I believe! Yeah, the nice part is always after the excercise !!

Can you suggest a complete begginers week schedule? How do you break those 80 minutes through the week? My issue is that I don't think I can utilize my weekends for excercise.

I am thinking something like Monday 20 min movement1 / Wednesday 20 min movement 2 / Friday 40 min both / Weekend rest

Is there a topic relative to my question where I can follow up?

All the best,

Yannis

Hi everyone,

Jim in AZ, USA here.  56 and working on losing weight and getting in shape.  Have lost 50# with 50# to go. Tested in to level 1A with 8 burpees and 3 navy seals.  Looking forward to the program.

Can someone tell me how max keep track of the counts?  looks like he touches his watch every rep.

Thanks

Hi, jiminAZ I can't tell you how Max keeps track of the counts.  I just know that I have a hard time remembering the count as I start to get fatigued at the 15 minute or so mark.  What I do is I only count to five and make a quick line on an index card after every five reps.

If you can't do weekends then maybe Monday and Tuesday work out, Wednesday rest, Thursday and Friday work out. So say, 6 counts Mon and Thursday and Navy reps Tuesday and Friday?

Hi, I am 56 yo male. I was relatively fit without having to do much, right up until I hit 50. After that I noticed my energy get naturally less, but my willingness and desire to exercise also get less.

By the end of COVID I managed to put on over 3 kilos and my belly now shows it. I have a dad bod.

I have since been trying to shift it using diet methods, but nothing works and everyone claims expertise but I don't think anyone really knows.

I dont have interest in going to gyms any more. I used to do martial arts, meditation, and yoga, but dont really feel the urge to do them so much either. I am basically kinda lazy, I'll admit, but to be honest at 56 I don't mind that. But I dont like the extra 3 kilos I cant seem to shift and need to get that sorted out.

I found I can throw in exercises while working, grabbing moments here and there in the day, and that suits my style at this age.  So I have started looking at that and found this site and the approach really appeals to me, so I thought I would join.

Hi, I'm Leon.  50 years old.  Used to lift weights a lot, but not for the past 15 years or so.  Do a little (very little) BJJ now.  Have some shoulder injury, but hopefully can delicately train around/past it.  I was SO GLAD to see that I ranked as a 1A when I started ("Hey I can do one '6 count' and one 'Navy Seal' in 20 minutes!")

Looking for a little beginners advice - if there is an FAQ or such.

Found the videos and here has been my workout for the last couple of weeks:

- 10 min of morning yoga (on youtube)
- Watch Max's '6 count military burpee' tutorial - start to do it along with him.  Yesterday I stopped, winded at 14 reps.
- Wait to catch breath / heart rate slow down.
- Watch Max's 'Navy Seal Burpee' turtorial - start to do it along with him.  Yesterday stopped winded at 6 reps.

So I've re-read and will do just the '6 count' today for 20 minutes.

Questions:
1) Anybody have a good cadence for work days / rest days to get 4 in a week?  (You can do any number of permutations, but what is intended?  Why 4, and not 3 or 5?)
2a) For my 20 minutes, should I just do as many as I can then stop for the remainder of the 20 minutes, incrementally moving up in fitness, gradually filling more and more of the 20 minutes?
2b) Or should I do as many as I can, jamming in as many as possible in 20 minutes?  (Do x reps until tired, rest, as soon as able do y more reps, rest, do z more reps til tired, etc.)

Thanks all!

PS - Just did 76 6-counts in 20 minutes starting/stopping/starting, so I may have answered my own question, but would appreciate any experienced insight.

Hey everyone. Nick from the USA here. Long time Iron Wolf devotee. Happy to join this community. Tomorrow I start the week at level 1D.

Hi all, Al here. Like a lot of you all I became a burpee fanatic a few years ago being introduced to Iron Wolf. I used to train with a bunch of different methods but, being a busy dad and with my new schedule next year, I definitely need to trim things down. I was using the BDT standards before with my navy seals and 8 count bodybuilders (instead of 6 counts, as I like them more), I was working on Level 2 for both before a work injury set me back. Now I'm mostly over it and looking to get back into it.
